Why partecipate
The seminar offers an engaging outreach opportunity that illustrates how the Italian community integrated into the local society, becoming an integral part of Argentina’s cultural development.
Program
The seminar takes place within the teaching activities of Prof. Moreno Toselli, as part of the course in Plant Morphophysiology in the Viticulture and Oenology program. Wine is undoubtedly a cornerstone of both Italian and Argentine culture, and the evolution of viticultural and oenological traditions represents a significant aspect in the history of the Italian colony in the Río Negro region.
The book was written to mark the hundredth anniversary of the founding of the city of Villa Regina, in the Argentine province of Río Negro, established by the first Italian immigrants in Patagonia. By retracing the history of the Italian colony, the book offers a vivid portrayal of the traditions and customs that, despite the distance from the motherland, have remained unchanged over the course of a century.
