Saida Aliyeva from the School of Agricultural and Food Sciences at ADA University in Azerbaijan recently presented “My Journey in Microbiology: From Environment to Food” at the Campus of Cesena of the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences of the University of Bologna. In her speech Aliyeva discussed her journey in microbiology, spanning from environmental research to advancements in food science. She contributed also to the European Researchers' Night 2024, engaging with the UniBO staff and the community present that evening. Dr Aliyeva has been invited by Professors Rosalba Lanciotti and Francesca Patrignani as visiting researcher during September and October 2024 in the frame of the partnership between ADA University and UniBO. This collaboration is facilitated by a growing number of Distal and ADA researchers including Professor Matteo Vittuari who is also serving as Dean of the School of Agricultural and Food Science at ADA. Between 2023 and 2024 over 15 students, staff members and researchers and 40 professionals took advantage of courses and mobility programs visiting DISTAL, DIMEVET and UNIBO. Most important, on September 9, the School of Agricultural and Food Science at ADA launched the bachelors in Agricultural Technologies and Food Technologies and the Master in Agricultural and Food Systems enrolling 112 students. The new programmes will open new opportunities for collaboration and mobility.
