On Thursday, September 24, 2026, the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Technologies will host OpenDISTAL, its annual event dedicated to fostering dialogue between research, education and the agri-food sector.
The 2026 edition will focus on the theme "Agri-food Systems in Transition: Adaptation, Energy and New Production Perspectives", featuring a full-day programme of talks and networking opportunities for companies, public institutions, schools, students, and the wider community.
As every year, OpenDISTAL will provide an opportunity to discover the Department’s latest research activities, strengthen collaborations with stakeholders, and promote dialogue between academia, industry and society.
The programme will include a plenary session with distinguished national and international invited speakers, thematic meetings with companies and institutions, a session dedicated to secondary schools presenting DISTAL’s educational opportunities, and initiatives for students, including networking opportunities with companies for internships and career development.
The day will conclude with the traditional Settembrata, the annual social gathering that brings together the entire DISTAL community in an informal setting.
The full programme and registration details will be available in the coming weeks.
***Please note that all sessions will be held in Italian, except for the GTI Africa sessions, which will be conducted in English.
