The project SIEPE (Sustanaibility Inclusion Energy Production Environment) won the RUS challenge (Universities Network for Sustainable Development) which promotes a competition for the best project among challenge-based activities on the themes of the 2030 Agenda.

SIEPE is the result of the work of the Hop-E student team, formed during the International Student Challenge UrbanFarm2020. The aim of UrbanFarm is to stimulate interdisciplinary learning through the realisation of urban regeneration projects involving the production of food in the city, with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda as a compass.

The SIEPE project envisages the reclamation of the ex-Siapa industrial site (Galliera, BO) and its reconversion into a hub devoted to urban agriculture and circular economy, starting from the needs of the surrounding area. Particularly appreciated was the complexity with which the issue of sustainability is addressed and the idea that urban regeneration must necessarily pass through social and human regeneration.
