Educational projects

The Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences welcomes students of all ages for an immersive educational experience among plants and insects.
Our activities, designed to complement school curricula with a practical and engaging approach, offer the opportunity to learn through direct contact with the environment.
Accompanied by teachers, children and young students will have the chance to take part in a botany lesson, exploring the fascinating world of plants. The main characteristics and curiosities of plant species will be explained, along with the importance of biodiversity and the crucial role plants play in maintaining ecosystem balance.
In the department’s agricultural garden, there is also an educational apiary, where students can learn about the world of pollinating insects, discover the life cycle of bees and their role in the ecosystem, and reflect on the importance of biodiversity and environmental protection.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to observe live insects and entomological collections up close, featuring specimens from various natural habitats.
