Research Commission Competencies
The Commission is responsible for the analysis, monitoring, promotion, and support of the research development of faculty and researchers, in alignment with the objectives of the Department's multi-year Strategic Plan, as stipulated by art. 18 paragraph 2 letter a) of the amended University Statute, which came into effect on 15/03/2024, and in accordance with the University's multi-year Strategic Plan.
Specifically, the Commission:
- Proposes criteria and indicators to the Department Council for monitoring and evaluating the research of Department members, for resource distribution purposes (e.g., BIR).
- Provides information and support to Department members in identifying funding opportunities and creating research networks at international, national, and University levels, including through the promotion of meetings, seminars, and workshops (e.g., in collaboration with other Departments).
- Supports the VQR representative and the VQR group in the Department's participation in national research evaluation exercises (VQR 2020-24).
- Conducts evaluation procedures for the candidacies of Department members for funding opportunities promoted by the University and other external entities (e.g., foundations).
- Promotes and organizes, where appropriate and in concert with the Directorate, Department conferences and research study days.
