Commission for Third Mission and Social Impact

The Commission is responsible for informing, monitoring, promoting, and coordinating the Department's Third Mission activities (e.g., Commissioned Research, Spin-offs, Public Engagement).

Competencies

The Commission is responsible for informing, monitoring, promoting, and coordinating the Department's Third Mission activities (e.g., Commissioned Research, Spin-offs, Public Engagement) in alignment with the objectives of the Department's multi-year Strategic Plan, as stipulated by art. 18 paragraph 2 letter a) of the amended University Statute, which came into effect on 15/03/2024, and in accordance with the University's multi-year Strategic Plan.

Specifically, the Commission:

  • Acts as an informational and training reference point on the Department's Third Mission and on the reporting activities of Public Engagement initiatives required by the University (e.g., IRIS catalog).
  • Collaborates with the Research Commission to monitor the social, cultural, and economic impacts of the Department's research.
  • Promotes, and documents the dissemination and impact activities of Third Mission in collaboration with the Communication Commission.
  • Monitors the commissioned research activities (on behalf of third parties) of Department members and maps the institutional and non-institutional entities that maintain collaborations and partnerships with the Department.
