HACKonFOODS – From Research to Impact: Developing Solutions for the Futures of Food Systems is an initiative organized within the PNRR OnFoods project. Young researchers will be gathered in teams which will have a full day to develop ideas to answer to one of the following company-driven challenges: 1) The Future Ingredient Hub: Designing Tomorrow’s Sustainable and Healthy Foods; 2) The Empathic Interface: Making Devices Become Partners in Psyco-Physical Wellbeing; 3) From Waste to Worth: Upcycling Animal Biomass for a Sustainable Food Future.
The challenges have been defined in collaboration with companies from the agri-food sector, including Bolton Food and the De’ Longhi Group. Participants will apply human-centered innovation methodologies in a full-immersion format. The 3 winning teams will gain direct access to a mentorship program designed to further develop the solutions created during the hackathon. This mentorship pathway, scheduled between late 2025 and early 2026, will require active participation in sessions with industry and business experts to refine and validate the proposed projects.
The initiative is open to young researchers (within and outside the OnFoods network) working on topics addressed by OnFoods who are interested in transforming research into concrete innovation for the agri-food system.
