On January 16 and 17, 2025, the kick-off Meeting of the HEU project EUAqua.Org – Integrative breeding strategies for the transition of European AQUAculture towards sustainable ORGanic production will be held in Padova, Italy. The two-day event, which will involve the project's 12 European partners, aims to establish a collaborative foundation for reaching the goals of the project, which is to The goal of the EUAqua.Org project is to develop essential tools for cost-effective, welfare-conscious and environmentally friendly Organic Aquaculture and to design intervention strategies to promote awareness and acceptance of Organic Aquaculture products in European consumers through a behavioral economics approach. The Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences will contribute to the project through the development of tools aiming at enhancing consumer understanding and acceptance of aquaculture products, with a particular emphasis on organic options. This will be achieved through the investigation, design, and testing of labelling strategies and awareness-raising interventions.
