Solution from the European Consumer Food Waste “Let’s reduce consumer food waste!”

The event “European Forum on Consumer Food Waste”, organized by the Joint Research Centre, in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Health and and Food Safety (DG SANTE), will take place in Bruxel on June 5th. During the forum, participants will share the latest initiatives, including those addressing consumer behaviour change, and will discuss how the solutions of the European Consumer Food Waste can support their work. The event will include discussions and parallel sessions with public authorities and practitioners on consumer food waste prevention and the presentation of actions implemented to reduce food waste. One of the parallel session dedicated to food waste reduction in school and universities will be chaired by prof. Matteo Vittuari of the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences. Also, the LARISO project coordinated by DISTAL and Regione Emilia-Romagna will be presented and discussed in feedback session dedicated to projects aiming at reducing food waste in public canteens.
