Distal 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 & 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 within the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, the ranking that evaluates universities and their positioning in specific subjects.
🏫 In the ranking released in recent days, the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences - University of Bologna 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝟓𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, surpassing 80% in the "Citations per paper" category and improving compared to previous editions.
This is an important result that also contributes to placing the University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna) among the top 50 universities in the world.
This significant achievement is determined by the performance of the teaching, research, and technical-administrative staff, the focus on research and internationalization, as well as the high employability rate of graduates, one of the highest in Italy: 𝟗𝟎.𝟖% 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Distal manages 142 competitive research projects, both launched and ongoing from 2022 to today, which attract fifteen million euros in annual revenue.
In 2024, there are forty active patents. Additionally, it hosts four spin-offs with 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 and facilities that ensure continuous alignment with the industry.
