The Food is Never Waste Coalition is financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and works with international partners on the topic of food waste prevention, reduction, and management at the national and local levels.

The main objective is to accelerate sustainable agri-food systems transformation by building on the capacity of local stakeholders and contributing to the scaling-up of practices globally.

From May 11th to May 13th 2026 the research team guided by Prof. Matteo Vittuari from DISTAL and CIHEAM Bari met in Tunis with the Institut National Agronomique de Tunisie (INAT) team, after one year collaborating in the project. The visit will include several engagement sessions with various local stakeholders and the presentation of the final results for the food waste reduction interventions carried out in Tunis university canteens. The purpose of the event is to engage in discussions and exchanges with the local actors on the food waste prevention actions and management strategies.
