The 8th edition of the international student challenge UrbanFarm has just come to an end! This year, 9 international teams have put themselves to the test to requalify a segregated and conflicting area in the municipality of El Prat de Llobregat in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. Students from several universities such as Bologna, El Cairo and Barcelona took part in this years challenge taking advantage of their interdisciplinarity to achieve economic, social, and environmental sustainability in the development of their projects. Hydroponic systems, vertical farming, and green walls are among the innovative solutions proposed by the students, while community spaces, horticultural therapy and job creation have also taken center stage in the projects.
Although we would like to praise all participating teams for their great work, a special congratulations go out to this years winner Urban Revival Studio who did a fantastic job throughout the challenge!
