The 3rd International Workshop on Vertical Farming (VertiFarm2024) is an international event organized by the University of Bologna under the aegis of Bologna municipality and the leading national and international scientific societies in the sector, ISHS (International Society for Horticultural Science) and SOI (Italian Society for Horticultural Science).
The event aims to promote the dissemination of research and the meeting between Vertical Farming experts and technical operators. Specifically, the most recent scientific advances and results on various topics related to Vertical Farming will be exhibited during the workshop, including the optimization of cultivation resources, automation, socio-economic impact, and environmental footprint. The workshop will involve academics, technical operators, entrepreneurs and investors of the sector in the dialogue and exchange of innovation. Keynote lectures, roundtables and guided visits to production infrastructures in the city of Bologna and in Italy will be organized, including the experimental Vertical Farm of the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences (DISTAL) of the University of Bologna, the first experimental Vertical Farm in Italy.
